California Trip Information

May 1-4, 2008

 

TO: All Students and Parent(s)/Guardian(s) of the Sahuaro Band Program

 

            This is the official packet of information for the spring California Trip with the Sahuaro Band.  Any Sahuaro Band student is eligible to attend providing that they are enrolled in a band class both semesters for the 2007-2008 school year.  All students will participate educationally as we will participate in two separate performance events.  The first will be a performance by the combined concert ensembles at the Heritage Festivals.  This will not involve everyone on the trip.  The second performance will be with the marching band in the Disneyland Theme Park. 

            The dates for the trip are listed above.  The plan is to leave on Thursday, May 1st, at approximately 7am.  An outlined itinerary is enclosed on the Heritage Festival application.  We will leave Anaheim at midnight on Saturday night, returning to Sahuaro High School on Sunday, May 4th at approximately 8am. 

            The approximate cost of the trip is $385 based on a quad-occupancy rate.  This will include:

 

            Charter Travel Fee

            Disneyland tickets

            Festival Fees

            Hotel Fees

            Admission to Aquarium of the Pacific

            Spirit Dinner Cruise

 

 

If you are interested in chaperoning this trip, please contact Kathy Malkin.  She will be organizing the chaperones for this trip.  We will be taking 10 chaperones with us on the trip.  We will be considering those parents who have spent more time in and around the program this year considering their familiarity with the students.

            Below, I have listed the dates that will be of importance regarding this trip:

 

                        Friday, March 14th – Payment of $100 due (non-refundable deposit)

                                                            Application due with payment

                        Monday, March 24th, Payment of $150 due

Friday, April 4th, Payment of $135 due

                        Monday, April 21st, 6-7pm – Chaperone Meeting

                        Monday, April 28th, 6:30pm – 8pm – Informational Meeting

                                                (All going on trip MUST attend with a parent/guardian)
